Columbia Police officer killed in line of duty to be laid to rest this week
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Columbia Police officer killed in the line of duty will be laid to rest this week.
Visitation for 29-year-old Officer Chris Delong will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home Thursday, September 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
With his funeral this Friday, September 4, at 11 a.m. at the Riverland Hills Baptist Church.
On Saturday, August 29 Officer Delong and Officer David Dymock were involved in a shootout with 33-year-old Adam Dowdy at Southeast Park.
Officer Delong died from his injuries, and Dowdy died also.
Officer Dymock was injured and has since been released from the hospital.
Delong is survived by his wife and two kids.
