FTC files lawsuit against Amazon
(CNN)– The Federal Trade Commission is suing Amazon.
The agency has accused the retail giant of deceiving businesses by overcharging prices to advertise on its website.
The FTC says Amazon has made billions of dollars carrying out this practice.
The lawsuit claims more than one million advertisers were deceived.
The suit says the advertisers paid more than they realized because Amazon raised the minimum price to place ads without them knowing.
The company says it strongly disagrees with the claims saying the government does not understand its advertisement process.
