Trump backs federal film tax credit

(CNN)– President Trump wants the federal government to lure more film production to the U.S. with a tax credit.

That’s something states like Georgia have done to attract projects from Hollywood.

It’s never been done on a national scale.

But states aren’t the only places producers look to save costs.

Some go to Canada, Europe and even as far as Australia.

President Trump wrote on social media Monday, August 31, he is pushing for a bipartisan bill to provide a federal incentive.

It’s something the film industry has been asking for in recent years.
