Lexington Co. leaders held ribbon-cutting for new fire station named after late firefighter

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Thursday (September 3) Lexington County leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new fire station.

The station is named in honor of Late Firefighter Jeffrey Vaden Chavis who died from fighting a residential structure fire in 2001.

Officials say the new facility represents Lexington County’s continued commitment to protecting their growing community while providing law enforcement with the resources they need to serve residents safely and effectively.
