Trump threatens to stop trade

(CNN)– President Trump is threatening to stop trade with all countries with which the U.S. has trade deficits.

That’s unless the Federal Reserve lowers interest rates.

Federal data shows the U.S. had a $1.2 trillion trade deficit last year.

Trump’s threat comes hours after the release of a stronger-than-expected jobs report.

It increases the likelihood the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates to control inflation when it meets this month.
