Annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony held in the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Today marks 25 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks that took the lives of nearly 3,000 people.

This morning, September 11, local leaders and first responders gathered to remember the tragedy at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The annual morning of remembrance ceremony was hosted by the 9/11 Remembrance Foundation of South Carolina

The event also honors the 64 fallen first responders and military members of the Midlands who have died since 2001.

ABC Columbia Tyler Ryan had the honor of hosting the ceremony to pay tribute to the local first responders that died that day.
