JKMAX recalls heated blankets due to overheating

(CNN)– Before the chilly air comes it’s a good idea to check your electric blankets and heating pads.

If you have one made by JK Max, the company has recalled nearly 200,000 of them.

That’s because they can overheat.

It’s happened a reported 577 times, and 53 of those resulted in burn injuries.

JK Max items are easily identifiable by their temperature controllers which have the company name printed on them.

If you have one check its model number against the recall item list on the Consumer Product Safety Commission‘s website.
