Amazon expands settlement money
(CNN)– If you have an Amazon Prime account you could have some money coming your way.
The Federal Trade Commission says Amazon is accelerating and expanding settlement payments to customers.
They stem from FTC allegations that the company enrolled millions of people in Prime without their consent, and made it hard to cancel.
The settlement includes up to $1.5 billion for consumers.
Regulators say Amazon has given out more than $845 million of it.
Now, the FTC says a judge has approved a joint motion it filed with the retail giant.
It increases the payment cap from $51 to $200.
