Columbia firefighters rescue dog from Monday afternoon fire

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Cola Firefighters rescued a dog from a Monday afternoon fire, say fire officials.

On Monday, September 28, second shift crews took down a garage fire at a home on Glengarry Drive.

Engine 30 arrived to the scene shortly after 1:15 p.m. to find smoke showing from the garage.

After establishing a water supply, the crew along with Engine 8 made entry, located the fire, extinguished it and ventilated the garage.

CRFD says Ladder 9 and Engine 3 searched the property, located a dog inside and brought it to safety.

Following an investigation it was determined the fire was accidental.

There were no injuries, and the home was saved from extensive damages.
