SCDOT to conduct lane closure, flagging operations on US 601 in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT will conduct a temporary lane closure and flagging operations on US 601 in Richland County beginning Tuesday, say transportation officials.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane under the US 378 bridge beginning Tuesday, October 6.

The lane closure and flagging operations will begin after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and end by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, pending any weather delays, says SCDOT.

Drivers on US 601 and US 378 turning to drive under the bridge may be stopped for up to 30 minutes while work is done.

SCDOT says the closure is needed for bridge girders to be set over US 601 as part of the project to replace the US 378 bridge.

Drivers are asked to slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
