University of South Carolina celebrates launch of new Feed the Flock refrigerators

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Earlier Wednesday, September 30, the University of South Carolina celebrated the launch of its new “Feed the Flock” refrigerators.

The effort is centered around providing food sustainability and food security across campus.

Officials say the initiative reclaims surplus food and then packages it into individual, ready-to-eat meals for members of the campus who are in need.

University officials say “Feed the Flock” has expanded to five campus buildings giving students in need easy access wherever they live.
