SCDOT to close, detour portion of US 521 for repairs near Rembert

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT says a portion US 521 near Rembert in Sumter County will be closed beginning Thursday, October 15, say transportation officials.

The closure will be between Ellerbe Mill Road (S-43-460) and TB Wright Road (S-43-109) and will begin overnight Thursday, October 15 and end overnight Sunday, October 18.

Drivers are advised to take Horatio-Hagood Road (S-43-37) to SC 261, then to TB Wright Road (S-43-109) to get back to US 521, says SCDOT.

Officials say the closure is needed to replace four 42 inch crossline pipes along US 521.
