RCSD speaks with Richland One about Autism Decal Program
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott spoke with Richland One’s Office of Special Services about the department’s Autism Decal Program.
The program is designed to help first responders recognize when an individual with autism may be present in a vehicle or residence.
The decal serves as a visual alert, encouraging first responders to adjust their communication and approach to better support the individual’s needs.
Lott says the program will help improve the interactions between law enforcement and people with autism.
