Wholesale inflation surged in September

(CNN)– Wholesale inflation surged in September to the highest level in more than four years, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Thursday morning, October 15.

It shows the Producer Price Index rose 1.3% from the month before.

It’s also up 6.3% from the year before.

The PPI numbers are higher than economists had expected.

PPI measures the average change in prices received by producers of goods and services.
