SC Dept. of Probation Parole and Pardon Services welcome new K9 members to team
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Probation Parole and Pardon Services is welcoming two new K9 members to its team for a very specific task.
Friday morning, October 16, leaders met alongside Governor Henry McMaster to introduce K9 Hunter and K9 Rocky to the public.
The four-legged friends have been trained to detect a certain chemical found in data storage devices, smart phones, and other electronics.
Hunter and Rocky will be deployed inside homes to find sexually explicit content being hidden by registered sex offenders.
The pair were trained by the nonprofit known as “Defenders for Children” and are being funded by donations from Riverside High School out of Greenville.
