American dream costs about $5.3 million

(CNN)– The amount of money it takes to live the American dream keeps going up.

A new analysis from the financial website Investopedia found that the American dream will now cost about $5.3 million over a lifetime.

That’s up more than 4% from last year.

According to the website, the American dream includes eight milestones.

Those include a wedding, owning a home, new cars, raising two children, healthcare, pets, and taking a vacation once a year.
