Airbnb to have new policy for house rules

(CNN)– Airbnb is restricting the chores hosts can require guests to complete before checkout.

Its new policies start November 20.

They prohibit hosts from mandating tasks that would take significant time or that a cleaner would usually do.

That includes stripping beds, bringing trash offsite, or washing and putting away dishes.

Hosts also won’t be able to charge guests fines or penalties since they already have protection against any guest damage.

Airbnb also is prohibiting hosts from limiting access to advertised amenities, and making them list all rules and requests upfront.
