Gas prices higher under Trump than under Biden administration

(CNN)– A key campaign promise during President Trump’s second run for the White House was to bring gas prices down below $2 a gallon.

But according to AAA data, the average price of gasoline is now higher than it was during the Biden Administration.

U.S. diesel futures have also surged above $5 a gallon, for the first time since April of 2022.

The war with Iran is a key culprit.

The battle over the Strait of Hormuz has created a log-jam disrupting supply chains and rapidly eroding global stockpiles of fuel.
