South Carolina AG promotes Children’s Advocacy Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s top prosecutor is holding an event which he hopes will promote the prevention of child abuse.
Attorney General Alan Wilson is giving the keynote address on Wednesday at the first ever “Children’s Advocacy Day” at the Statehouse.
The day also includes presentations from several state lawmakers and Veronica Kunz, chief executive officer of the South Carolina Victims Advocacy Network.
Wilson says Kunz will present the story of a survivor of child abuse. The ceremony will also highlight the roles that the judicial system and members of the law enforcement community play in preventing and dealing with child abuse.
