Authorities: Deaths in Darlington a murder-suicide

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Darlington County deputies say a 73-year-old man killed his wife, then turned the gun on himself.

Authorities said autopsies Tuesday showed Oliver Stonecypher shot and killed his 72-year-old wife, Alma, inside their Darlington home Monday afternoon, then went outside and shot himself. He died a short time later at the hospital.

Deputies are still trying to determine what led Stonecypher to kill his wife.
