3rd suspect arrested in Charleston County death
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A third person has been arrested in the death of an Horry County man in Charleston County.
Twenty-year-old Denzel Marquis Heyward of North Charleston was arrested Wednesday by U.S. marshals and sheriff’s deputies. He is accused of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a gun during a violent crime.
Authorities accuse Heyward of shooting 20-year-old Kadeem Chambers of Longs on May 16 on Johns Island.
Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady says Chambers and his brother were attacked after being forced from a parked vehicle. Seventeen-year-old Jujuain Hemingway was beaten.
Nineteen-year-old Dashaun Simmons surrendered to deputies last week on the same charges.
Twenty-two-year-old Quansantrina Rivers of North Charleston was arrested last week on accessory charges.
It was not clear if Heyward has a lawyer.
