Dominoes Shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after he was convicted of killing another man as he played dominoes in Orangeburg County. The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports (http://bit.ly/Kh1rVq ) a jury found Romeo Brown guilty of murder Wednesday. Several witnesses testified that Brown walked up to 36-year-old Alex Harrison at a party in October 2010 and fired two shots. Brown testified in his own defense that he had never met Harrison, and Brown’s attorney pointed out several of the witnesses had been drinking at the party. Prosecutors presented a police report four months before Harrison was killed where he accused Brown of pistol whipping him. Brown’s lawyer pointed out no charges were filed.
