COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “They say one sinner destroys all righteousness,” says David Richardson, victim’s younger brother. Thursday, David Richardson joined other members of his family for a press conference announcing the arrest of those responsible for this brother, Joseph Richardson’s, death. “Someone this family misses, someone that this family, thinks about every day,” says Sheriff Leon Lott, Richland County “We’ve gone through so much over the years,” says Richardson. Police have charged 23 year old Christopher Trice and 23 Tomasina Miller for the murder. “These young people and their actions they destroyed a family’s lifelong work,” says Richardson. And according to police, Richardson may not have been the man Trice and Miller were looking for. “We believe they were going to rob someone else and went to the wrong apartment,” says Sheriff Lott. Crandall Sims reporting, “According to police, Richardson was at home at his apartment here on the 7600 block of Garners Ferry Road on November 12, 2006, when two intruders broke in and killed him.” “Someone kicked the door in, robbed him, shot him and left him there,” says Sheriff Lott. They also left police with very few leads to go on, leads that would eventually go cold until recently when a call came in from Crime Stoppers. “That call through crimestoppers, that anonymous call through crimestoppers, has allowed this family to stand up here with me today and take that next step that road to recovery that they need so much,” says Sheriff Lott
