Rep. Parker loses bid for 3rd term in SC House
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Boiling Springs Rep. Steve Parker has lost his bid for a third term in the South Carolina House.
Donna Wood defeated Parker in Tuesday’s Republican primary, getting 57 percent of the vote.
Parker sits on the Labor Commerce and Industry Committee. The 61-year-old businessman was first elected in 2008.
Wood is a nonprofit organization consultant who serves as a Soil and Water commissioner for the Spartanburg County Conservation District.
There is no Democrat running for the seat.
Other incumbents to lose their bid for re-election include Rep. B.R. Skelton of Six Mile.
