SC Election Commission: voting website experiencing issues due to high traffic

The South Carolina Election Commission says that the scVOTES.gov website experienced website issues due to a high increase in web traffic during the first day of early-voting. 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— The South Carolina Election Commission says that the scVOTES.gov website experienced issues due to a high increase in web traffic during the first day of early-voting.

The commission apologizes to people who were attempting to access the website and say they are currently working to restore access. Officials say the technical issues does not impact voters’ ability to vote early at locations that opened today across the state.

In the meanwhile, voters are asked to visit the following resources to find early voting locations and other information:

  • Early Voting Locations are being shared through Twitter and Facebook.
  • Links for voters to get their sample ballot and check their registration are also being shared through social media.  Direct link:  https://vrems.scvotes.sc.gov/Voter/Login.
  • Voters can also contact their local election office directly.
