Greenville man drowns during Lake Keowee outing
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 29-year-old Greenville man swimming with his fiancee and friends suddenly went under the water at Lake Keowee and drowned.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said it took divers about two hours to find the body of Randy Osburn after his friends called 911 around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
Addis says the group rented a pontoon boat and was swimming on the lake when Osburn disappeared without crying for help or panicking. Osburn’s fiancee says he was a good swimmer.
Addis says toxicology tests will be run on Osburn, but he didn’t order an autopsy.
The coroner says Osburn is the third drowning death in Oconee County in June.
