Gamecocks pick up SEC tight end from transfer portal
The Gamecocks picked up a huge addition for their tight end room Tuesday.
Former Arkansas star Trey Knox is joining Carolina. He announced his decision on social media.
Knox was one of the best available tight ends in the portal. He made 45 appearances with the Razorbacks, starting 29 games and finished his career with 81 catches for 892 yards and nine touchdowns.
Knox joins his former Arkansas coaches Dowell Loggains (now Carolina’s offensive coordinator) and Justin Stepp (USC’s wide receivers coach), who both recruited Knox out of high school as a receiver.
The news is massive for the Gamecocks, who just lost two tight ends to transfer (Jaheim Bell and Austin Stogner).
