The N.C. Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Tyreke Addison of Lumberton and 18-year-old Nokolma Dakota Hunt of Fairmont were killed Monday night. The two were among five people riding in a 1994 Ford Thunderbird than ran off N.C. 41 and struck a tree around 9 p.m.
Addison also played on the school’s basketball and baseball teams.
A patrol report said neither Addison nor Hunt was wearing seat belts.
