Cops: Man stabbed stepfather to death in Iva home
IVA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 67-year-old man was stabbed to death in his Anderson County home during a fight with his stepson.
Chief Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman says James Henry Davenport of Iva died Sunday night after being stabbed multiple times.
Boseman says 49-year-old Robert Joe Frost of Anderson used a kitchen knife in the attack.
Iva Police Chief Thomas Miller says Frost kicked in a door at the house and demanded cash. Frost’s mother told him to take money from her wallet and leave, but Miller says the man stabbed his mother in the abdomen and then confronted his stepfather.
Frost was being held without bond on charges including murder and first-degree burglary. It wasn’t known if he has an attorney.
