Red Cross Donations Needed

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C.– You may not think about it that often, but all it takes it one unexpected medical emergency and you could be in need of a blood transfusion to stay alive. It’s a harsh reality, Red Cross Marketing Manager, Lauren May found out the hard way. Last September on his way to a football practice, May says her ten year old nephew was involved in a head on collision, breaking both of his legs and where he needed a transfusion to stay alive. While Lauren had already been donating blood, now she is encouraging other family members and other members of the community to do the same. “I think everybody knows there’s a patient on the other end of that blood transfusion. But when it comes to someone you love, you care about it makes it that much more meaningful.”
