Man found not guilty in Oconee County shootings
WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) — A man has been found not guilty in the shooting death of a 24-year-old Atlanta man but was convicted of shooting into the man’s home.
The Anderson Independent Mail reports (http://bit.ly/NZm45X ) that an Oconee County jury on Wednesday found 26-year-old Dametriose (dah-MEE’-tree-uhs) Moss of Seneca not guilty of murder in the death of Quinton Thomas.
Moss was arrested hours after Thomas was shot to death in May 2011 and charged with his death and with the attempted murder of another person found shot in a nearby mobile home.
On Wednesday, Moss was found not guilty in both of those cases but was sentenced to 15 years in prison for shooting into dwellings.
