(WOLO) — Former Gamecock Steve Pearce will join the Houston Astros Sunday. The Astros claimed Pearce after the Baltimore Orioles placed him on waivers. Pearce played in 28 games for the Orioles this season, hitting .254 with 3 home runs and 14 RBI. Houston is Pearce’s third Major League team. He played with Pittsburgh from 2007-2011. He’s played in a total of 213 games with a .235 career batting average with 12 home runs and 66 RBI in 536 big league at-bats.
