Rock Hill pedestrian killed near spot husband died
ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 57-year-old Rock Hill woman has been struck and killed by a car just two blocks from where her husband died after being hit by a van eight years ago.
Investigators told The Herald of Rock Hill (http://bit.ly/PxiwHp ) that Barbara Sibley died at the hospital a short time after she was struck around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the driver told them Sibley stepped off the sidewalk in front of his car and he could not stop. No charges are expected.
Authorities say Sibley’s 64-year-old husband died in 2004 just a short distance away on the same road. Witnesses say he did not see an oncoming van.
