Charleston’s new fire chief being introduced
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston residents are getting a chance to meet their new fire chief.
Mayor Joe Riley on Tuesday will formally introduce Karen Brack to residents of the city. She began her job as the city’s new fire chief on Monday.
Brack comes to Charleston after serving as deputy chief in Eugene, Ore.
She has more than 30 years of experience in the fire service and was selected from 61 candidates in a nationwide search.
She started her career in 1982 as a firefighter in Fulton County, Ga.
