Teen Charged with Robbing 2 Pizza Delivery Guys, Shooting Another Man
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A Columbia teen has been charged with robbing 2 pizza delivery guys and shooting another man in his own home, this according to the Columbia Police Department. In addition, 2 juveniles have also been charged. 19 year old Devanta Boyd and a juvenile are accused of robbing a pizza delivery employee on June 30, 2012 at the Brook Pines Apartments complex. Police say the men allegedly used guns during the robbery and demanded the victim get out of the car. The suspects then stole the car and money, say police. The victim’s car was later recovered just three blocks away. Police say the juvenile has been arrested, but their name has not been released. On a seperate incident Police say Boyd and another juvenile robbed another police delivery employee again at the Brook Pines Apartment complex, on July 30, 2012. According to police, the victim says the juvenile pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at his forehead and demanded car keys, money and a phone. Police say the victim went on to say the suspects made them take the ‘pizza delivery’ sign off of the vehicle and then stole the car. The car was later recovered just three blocks away at Regency Park Drive. Police say the juvenile has been arrested, but their name has not been released. 19 year old Boyd is also accused of shooting a man in his arm, police say according to the victim he was trying to enter his home when he was shot. Police believe an argument with neighbors may have sparked the shooting. Boyd is charged with Attempted Murder, 2 Counts of Armed Robbery, Carjacking, Grand Larceny, Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
