Midlands Children Enjoy 2012 MDA Camp
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — This week, thirteen children from the Midlands and Augusta area are enjoying a break from their battle for life, they’re attending the 2012 MDA summer camp. All of them are battling some form of Muscular Dystrophy, for some the disease could take their life. But for five days they have an escape, camp. The campers get to enjoy ziplining after being hoisted 45 feet in the air, climbing a rope ladder, archery, fun in the pool and much more outdoor fun. But the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down, instead campers come together for music, a spin on the dance floor, marsh mellow roasting and games. Yet, the experience here is more than just fun, camp offers the kids hope, hope to believe in their future.
