Columbia police revisit 1992 missing woman case
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have released a photograph of what a Columbia woman missing for nearly 20 years would look like today in hopes to drum up new leads in the case.
Dail Dinwiddie was last seen at a Columbia bar after watching a U2 concert in September 1993. The photo released Monday shows what a police artist thinks she would look like at age 43.
Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says investigators have followed hundreds of leads into homes and prisons across the country, in the past two decades, but they still don’t have enough evidence even to say whether Dinwiddie is alive or dead.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott offered an impromptu $20,000 reward after hearing Dinwiddie’s mother’s heartbreaking plea for any information Monday. She even included her home phone number.
