Legree Ready To Step In For Auguste

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Jimmy Legree is ready to redeem himself. After struggling at safety in two starts last year as a sophomore, the 6 foot, 189-pounder from Beaufort, S.C. says he is back at his natural position at cornerback. Right now, Legree is USC’s starting corner opposite Victor Hampton. Legree is expected to replace injured senior Akeem Auguste, but, after Tuesday’s USC practice, secondary coach Grady Brown said there is still competition for the starting spot. Brown went on to say he expects freshmen Ahmad Christian and Chaz Elder to see some playing time as they continue to improve in the preseason. The Gamecocks kick off the 2012 season at Vanderbilt August 30th.
