Teen arrested for taking money from Carowinds

FORT MILL, S.C. (AP) _ A 16-year-old Carowinds worker has been fired and banned from the park for a year after deputies in York County say he hid $80 somewhere in the park, then stole another $267. The Herald of Rock Hill reports (bit.ly/PxDni1) that the unidentified teenager was responsible for receiving money from customers and taking it to one of the park’s banks. According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the teen hid $80 in the bank instead of turning it in. Last Saturday, deputies say he came up $267 short from what he should have turned in. The teen said he couldn’t account for where the money went and that it wasn’t possible that he returned that much in wrong change. Deputies issued a juvenile summons and released him to his mother.
