Branchville man arrested near school zone for drugs and weapons

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A Branchville man is out on bond after being arrested for drugs and weapons. The Orangeburg County Sheriff‘s Office says while officers were patrolling the school zone near Vance Primary School on Wednesday, they stopped Kenneth Carter, Jr. for a traffic violation off of Highway 210 and 310. Investigators say that is when one of the officers saw open cans of beer in the truck, and after further investigation, officers found marijuana and several guns. One of the guns was reported stolen from the Columbia Police Department. Carter is out on a $20,000 bond.
