RCSD: Suspect wanted after running away from deputies

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies are searching for a man who they say escaped from deputies this afternoon.

Investigators say Byron Pringle was arrested this morning on multiple drug charges.

He was taken to Lexington Medical Center because deputies suspected he had eaten some drugs.

When hospital officials told deputies he was ready for release, deputies say he took off running.

A deputy who tried to catch him was injured but is expected to recover.
