SC Mother Sought in Death of Daughter in Bathtub

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities are looking for a 21-year-old mother from York who is charged with homicide by child abuse after her 10-month-old daughter drowned in a Spartanburg motel bathtub. Spartanburg County deputies say Mary Ann Williams was not with her daughter in the bathroom on Aug. 20 when she went under the water. Emergency workers revived the child, but the coroner’s office says the girl died in the hospital on Tuesday. Deputies say the mother has not been taken into custody and they are looking for any tips to where she is.
