Alex Murdaugh trial closing arguments underway

Closing arguments are now underway for the defense in the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Closing arguments are now underway for the defense in the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial.

The prosecution gave their closing arguments in court yesterday, their final attempt to convince the jury of Murdaugh’s alleged guilt.

Prosecutor Creighton Waters slammed Murdaugh as a thief and liar who killed his wife and son to avoid a decade of financial crimes from being discovered.

After nearly 6 weeks, the defense is now making their last attempt at proving reasonable doubt that Alex Murdaugh is guilty of killing his wife and son.

The case could finally go to the jury today.

Court began this morning though with yet another brief delay involving the jury.
