COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — In his weekly press conference Tuesday, USC head football coach Steve Spurrier says its still “wait and see” for quarterback Connor Shaw. Shaw left the season opening game at Vanderbilt just before the half after injuring his right (throwing) shoulder. Spurrier says the team will continue to evaluate Shaw throughout the week. “We’ll see how he feels Wednesday or Thursday. If he can’t pitch around Thursday, he’s probably not going to play. If not, Dylan Thompson should get the first call, Seth Strickland and Andrew Clifford will be ready after that.” Coach Spurrier said the injury has nothing to do with the joint, it is just a deep bone bruise on his shoulder. The Gamecocks take on East Carolina Saturday at 12:21 at Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be aired live on ABC Columbia, with coverage beginning at noon.
