Ex-prosecutor accused of molesting 2, decades ago
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Two brothers are accusing a former South Carolina prosecutor of sexually abusing them when he was their Boy Scout leader decades ago.
The men sued Jay Hodge last week alleging he molested them in the 1970s at Boy Scout camps, a church and his home. He denies the allegations.
Hodge was chief prosecutor for four counties in northeastern South Carolina for a dozen years until retiring in 2009.
The lawsuit also accuses the Boy Scouts of America of failing to supervise Scoutmasters and warn Scouts about the potential for abuse. A Scouts spokesman says the organization is saddened by all abuse allegations.
