(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — It was a moment in history that will never be forgotten. Thousands of civilians, and first responders killed in the violent attacks on the world trade center. Many of those who responded and some who joined the military because of the tragic events were honored during a ceremony held that the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Tears of joy, sorrow and stories told by loved ones left behind were given underneath two concrete beams from one of the twin towers. Names of the fallen who paid the ultimate sacrifice, which has grown from 47 to 52 in the last year were read aloud. Each family member, soldier, and first responder vowing to always remember regardless of how painful.
