Relief at the gas pump

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — It looks like as the fall season comes into full swing, gas prices are falling as fewer people are traveling. Gas Buddy is reporting that the average price of gas in Columbia is sitting at $3.55 per gallon, which is also the average price for gas statewide. One of the major factors in the falling gas prices besides less travel is the transition to a different type of fuel. Typically, the summer blend costs more than the winter blend, and mid-September is when that transition takes place. Crude oil prices are sitting at $93.17 per barrel. Nationwide, an average gallon of gas goes for $3.82.
