Columbia Police Investigate Weekend Assaults
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department is investigating two assaults that happened over the weekend in Five Points. According to police, the first incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday morning in the 700 block of Harden Street. According to the victim, he was with a friend when he was bumped by two, unknown males. There was allegedly a verbal altercation between the men and the victim, that resulted in a fight. The victim told investigators he suffered a broken arm, and was treated at a local hospital. The second incident happened a short time later, also in the 700 block of Harden Street. The victim told police that during a verbal altercation with a group of unknown males, he was shoved and pushed to the ground. The victim told authorities he suffered cuts and bruises, and injured his jaw as a result of the incident. Neither victim was able to provide a detailed description of the suspects.
