Police Believe Missing Teen May Be in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division believes a missing North Carolina teen may be in the Myrtle Beach area. It has issued an Amber Alert for 12-year-old Abigale Lefevers. She was last seen Sunday night at her Newport, North Carolina home. Police believe Abigale is with 38-year-old Timothy Newman. Newman is a registered sex offender. He’s reportedly had contact with Abigale in the past several weeks. Investigators say Newman has knowledge of East Coast waterways and back roads. Newman is believed to be driving a red, 1998 Chrysler Sebring with a North Carolina license plate. It reads AKT 6534. The car was last seen Monday morning on Highway 17 near the South Carolina border.
