Missing NC Girl Found Safe

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A 12-year-old North Carolina girl reported missing on Monday is found safe. The FBI said Abigaile Lefevers was found in a parking lot near Miami, Florida, along with the man accused of abducting her. Authorities said the girl is safe and is being checked out at an area hospital. a Abigaile’s father said he last saw his daughter at their house on Sunday night. When he woke up Monday morning, she was gone. According to North Carolina deputies, Abigaile had been in contact in recent weeks with the suspect, Timothy Newman. Newman is a registered sex offender. Robert Lefevers said his daughter had his debit card with her when she left the house. Authorities said Newman tried to use the card several times, and that’s how they tracked the pair to Miami. Newman will face child abduction charges in North Carolina. No word yet on whether he’ll face charges in other states.
